February 4, 2014: Soprano Singer Julia Jiali Zhu and a group of young musicians from China performed in the East Room Tuesday as part of their Chinese New Year Celebration Tour of North America. The performance marks 42 years since President Nixons historic journey of diplomacy to the Peoples Republic of China, and 35 years since Washington and Beijing officially normalized diplomatic relations. The program was co-sponsored by the Nixon Foundation and the United States and China Foundation.
