New Online Exhibit Celebrates
the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Julie and David Eisenhower

Online presentation includes releases of never-before-seen photographs from the personal collection of Julie Nixon Eisenhower

The Richard Nixon Foundation has produced a new, originally-curated online exhibit telling the story of the courtship and wedding of Julie and David Eisenhower. The exhibit launches today, marking their 50th wedding anniversary, and is available to view at nixonfoundation.org.

Compiled with more than 40 images, artifacts, and video clips, the online exhibit details the unprecedented wedding that brought two presidential families together on December 22, 1968. It recounts Julie and David’s first meeting as eight-year-olds at the 1957 presidential inauguration and traces their courtship, engagement, and wedding in the following decade.

Exhibit visitors will see hand-drawn sketches of the bride’s wedding gown, rare, new photographs from Julie Nixon Eisenhower’s personal collection, and newly-released letters sent to the newlyweds from President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The exhibit is best viewed on a desktop, laptop or tablet.
