SUMMARY:Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and bestselling author Janie Nitze
DESCRIPTION:U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and Author Janie Nitze  in-conversation with Matt Parlow \nAuthors of Heroes of 1776: The Story of the Declaration of Independence \nBook Talk and Signing \nFrom Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and bestselling author Janie Nitze! Explore the courage and sacrifice of some of the heroes of the American Revolution and the stories behind the document that started it all—The Declaration of Independence. \nIn the spring of 1776\, the streets of Philadelphia buzzed with the sounds of revolution. Talk of war and rumors of spies swirled in the air. Noisy debates spilled out of taverns. The State House bell tolled urgently\, calling men to meetings and momentarily drowning out the normal hum of the port city. \nDive into the stories of ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things\, from iconic figures like Thomas Jefferson\, George Washington\, Ben Franklin\, and Paul Revere\, to lesser-known revolutionaries such as Caesar Rodney\, Thomas Paine\, and Mary Katherine Goddard. These great men and women risked all they had—their property\, freedom\, and ultimately their lives—to secure a better life for their children and grandchildren. Packed with firsthand accounts and vivid depictions of the patriots’ struggle for freedom\, Justice Gorsuch’s and Janie Nitze’s debut children’s book thoughtfully investigates the foundations of our country\, centering the human experience at the heart of it all. \nCelebrate America’s 250th birthday with the Heroes of 1776\, a celebration of the ideals upon which this country stands\, told with humanity in only the way Justice Gorsuch and Janie Nitze can. \nGuests will be subject to security screenings\, no large bags will be allowed. Please bring your Photo ID\, which will be required for check-in. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor security purposes\, ticketing will close on April 26th. No walk-up\, day of registration will be allowed.

SUMMARY:Meet Award-winning historian Michael Auslin
DESCRIPTION:Book Talk & Signing\nNational Treasure: How the Declaration of Independence Made America \nThe inspiring story of the Declaration of Independence—from its drafting by Thomas Jefferson to the 21st century–revealing the physical and symbolic history of the document that made America\, and which can unite it again. \nThis dramatic narrative is the first to tell the full story of the fragile scroll that shaped the United States and changed the world. At a time of deep polarization\, National Treasure shines a much-needed light on our founding document and the principles that bind us together. The Declaration is our North Star–both a passionate invocation of equality and a galvanizing call for liberty–providing a unifying vision of what it means to be American.  \nAward-winning historian Michael Auslin brings to life the grand sweep of American history\, showing how the revered relic and supreme symbol of the American ideal has survived to inspire each generation. Rich with historic personalities and deeply moving\, National Treasure dispels the myths still wrapped around the parchment\, taking us through the fierce debates in the summer of 1776 through the Declaration’s long and hallowed afterlife. \n \nCopies of National Treasure: How the Declaration of Independence Made America will be available for purchase following the event.
