On Track to the Moon and Back! Trains at the Nixon Library

November 25, 2019 through January 5, 2020

Astronauts, rocket ships and moon rocks will join in the merry family-fun tradition of model trains and beautifully decorated Christmas trees at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum this holiday season.

TWO FOR ONE INCREDIBLE HOLIDAY DEAL!

Beginning Monday, November 25, 2019, guests to the Nixon Library will enjoy the popular special exhibit Apollo 11: One Giant Leap for Mankind and tour a whistling wonderland of TRAINS, featuring a dozen bustling tracks, 500 square feet of hand-crafted model scenery, and five expertly-designed layouts including the all-new Rocket Railroad space-themed layout, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

As tradition goes, more than two dozen whimsical Christmas trees will adorn the halls of the Nixon Library for visitors to enjoy including the all-new 20-feet tall Cosmic Christmas Tree.

See TRAINS at the Nixon Library from Nov. 25, 2019 through Jan. 5, 2020.

The showcase reflects President Nixon’s love of trains that began in his Yorba Linda childhood, in his boyhood home now located on the Nixon Library campus. In his Memoirs, he recalled, “In the daytime, I could see the smoke from the steam engines. Sometimes at night, I was awakened by the whistle of a train and then I dreamed of the far-off places I wanted to visit someday.”
