DESCRIPTION:Within days of closing the Nixon Library to the public due to COVID-19 in March 2020\, the White House East Room\, known for its once-active programming and frequent events\, became a center for much-needed blood donations. \nSince then\, the Foundation has regularly hosted drives\, resulting in thousands of usable blood units and saving many lives. \nThe Richard Nixon Foundation intends to continue these popular and meaningful blood drives as long as the shortage continues. \nThis blood drive is presented in partnership with the American Red Cross. \nThe blood drive will take place Monday\, May 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. \n

Finalists will be invited to Washington\, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee National Championship in Fall 2026. \nThe National Civics Bee is an annual competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. In the first round of the contest\, students will participate in an essay competition. Judges will then select 20 finalists to participate in the final round: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge.

DESCRIPTION:Within days of closing the Nixon Library to the public due to COVID-19 in March 2020\, the White House East Room\, known for its once-active programming and frequent events\, became a center for much-needed blood donations. \nSince then\, the Foundation has hosted over 40 blood drives\, resulting in over 1\,700 usable units of blood and potentially 5\,100 lives saved. \nThe Richard Nixon Foundation intends to continue these popular and meaningful blood drives as long as the shortage continues. \nThis blood drive is presented in partnership with the American Red Cross. \nThe blood drive will take place Monday\, January 12 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. \n \n
