American Civics Campaign

Inspired by President Nixon’s conviction in education and debate, the American Civics Campaign will equip the next generation with a deep understanding of American democracy and civic life.

The Richard Nixon Foundation is undertaking its most ambitious and impactful effort yet – the American Civics Campaign.  This bold national initiative to reignite understanding of the principles that sustain our democracy. Through innovative programs, dynamic partnerships, and far-reaching educational outreach, the campaign will lead a nationwide movement to strengthen civic knowledge, character, and engagement among America’s youth.

At the heart of this effort is the creation of the American Civic Center, a permanent home for civic education located on the grounds of the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California. This landmark institution will serve as a hub for civic learning and civil discourse, dedicated to instilling the enduring principles of citizenship, diplomacy, and leadership to the next generation.

Together, the American Civics Campaign and the American Civic Center will anchor the Nixon Foundation’s mission to restore civic understanding and equip young Americans to engage thoughtfully, responsibly, and constructively in our democracy.

“Richard Nixon’s true religion was America: a civic faith in the Constitution, the founders, the American Way and the American virtues, freedom and democracy.”
