Richard Nixon’s greatest joy was his family. He and Pat raised two daughters, Tricia and Julie, who grew up in the public eye yet remained grounded and close-knit.
Tricia Nixon graduated from Finch College and married Harvard law student Edward Cox in a Rose Garden ceremony at the White House in 1971. Julie Nixon earned her degree from Smith College and married David Eisenhower, grandson of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, in 1968. Both women were active in their father’s campaigns and causes and joined their mother’s efforts to make the White House more accessible.
Today, Tricia Nixon Cox and Julie Nixon Eisenhower serve on the Board of Directors of the Richard Nixon Foundation, carrying forward their parents’ vision and values. They remain closely involved in Foundation activities and have played a vital role in preserving and sharing their parents’ legacies. Tricia’s son, Christopher, also serves on the Board of Directors, along with Julie’s daughter, Melanie.
The Nixon family’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and love — an American family shaped by service, tested by history, and bound together by enduring loyalty.
