Fifty years ago, President Nixon ended the Vietnam War, and nearly 600 Prisoners of War came home to their families. Five decades after that extraordinary and emotional homecoming, the Richard Nixon Foundation will host the official celebration of the 50th anniversary of their repatriation; nearly 200 POWs and their families will attend three days of reunion events from May 23 to 25, 2023 at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California.

The passage of time has not diminished the respect that the American people have for the once-imprisoned airmen, seaman, soldiers and Marines. More than 25 individuals or companies have lent support to the upcoming POW reunion events, the educational special exhibition Captured: Shot Down in Vietnam, and the Nixon Foundation’s 50th-anniversary commemoration of the end of the Vietnam War.

The Richard Nixon Foundation and the NAM-POWs Corporation commend and thank all of these generous supporters.

In addition to the POW reunion —expected to be their last— a new monument will be dedicated at the Nixon Library honoring all Americans who served in the Vietnam War, and a new special exhibition, Captured: Show Down Over Vietnam, will be opened by the POWs during the reunion events in May.
