Lights can be viewed nightly for one week, September 5–12
YORBA LINDA, Calif. —The Richard Nixon Foundation will mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with two beams of light rising into the night sky above the Library, shining nightly from September 5 through September 12 between 7 and 9:30 p.m. — as bright as the iconic beam atop the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas.
The nightly tribute honors the 2,977 lives lost in the attacks and leads up to a commemoration ceremony at the Nixon Library on Friday, September 11.
The 11 a.m. ceremony will include remarks by:
– The Orange County Sheriff’s Department
– The Orange County Fire Authority
– Tom Frost, father of United Flight 175 passenger Lisa Anne Frost, who has dedicated his life to honoring her memory and preserving the stories of September 11
The ceremony will also include:
– A performance by the Orange County Fire Authority Pipes and Drums
– A formal Presentation of the Colors
– Musical performances by the Villa Park High School Band and the OC Master Chorale
The ceremony is open to the public and registration is recommended. Registration does not include admission to the Museum galleries.
