The Fox News anchor discussed his new memoir with a full East Room audience, then hosted his show live from the Library, including a segment with Nixon Foundation President and CEO Jim Byron

Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher spoke to a full audience in the Nixon Library’s East Room on Monday about his new memoir, Turns Out They Were Right All Along,  before hosting Fox News @ Night live from the Library.

In conversation with Joel Pollak, opinion editor at the California Post, Gallagher shared stories from his childhood and his family, the setbacks he faced on the way to the anchor chair, and the simple advice from mentors that stayed with him. Along the way, he gave the audience a behind-the-scenes look at his broadcasting career, with plenty of humor and candor.

After the event, Gallagher hosted Fox News @ Night live from Yorba Linda. On a show that averages more than 1.5 million viewers a night, Byron and CJ Pearson, founder of the Next 250 PAC, joined Gallagher for a segment on why young Americans are rediscovering President Nixon. They talked about the online “Nixonmaxxing” trend and how the 37th president’s words are resonating today.

“What you are seeing now with Nixonmaxxing is a real-time rethinking of Richard Nixon,” Byron said. “It has been building for a while, but it is now producing viral clips that the Nixon Foundation has been pushing out. It’s President Nixon on the Middle East. It’s President Nixon talking about Soviet leaders — how to deal with Russia today — and it is really resonating.”

“What’s indisputable is that Richard Nixon is one of the most consequential presidents that we’ve ever seen in American history, and he continues to be. And I think his legacy will only continue to endure as more people learn about him,” Pearson said.
