Grand Strategy Summit

The Grand Strategy Summit is the Richard Nixon Foundation’s flagship policy conference, devoted to Richard Nixon’s long-term approach to foreign policy.

The Foundation launched the summit in 2022, fifty years after President Nixon’s trips to the People’s Republic of China and the Soviet Union. It is dedicated to a long-term strategic direction for American statecraft, what President Nixon might call “the long view.”

The Richard Nixon Foundation’s annual conference on American grand strategy returns to Washington, D.C., in 2027. Dates to be announced.

Grand Strategy Forum

Building on the success of the Grand Strategy Summit, the Richard Nixon Foundation is launching the Grand Strategy Forums — a series of spin-off sessions held throughout the year, to platform leaders in government, diplomacy, and national security to examine the state of American foreign policy.

Where the annual Summit convenes the full breadth of the conversation each fall, the Forums extend it across the calendar — smaller, sharper sessions built around a single pressing question in great power competition, from China and Ukraine to nuclear proliferation and artificial intelligence. Each Forum carries forward the same charge that has defined the Summit since its founding: that America’s leadership abroad depends on clear strategic thinking at home.

Dates, speakers, and locations for the first Grand Strategy Forums will be announced in the coming months.
