January 9, 2010: On Richard Nixon’s 97th Birthday, son-in-law and New York GOP Chairman Edward F. Cox gave the annual Nixon Legacy Lecture. Introduced by his son and New York Congressional candidate Christopher, Cox described the astute leadership and the complexity of President Nixon. Following Cox’s remarks, Commander Everett Alvarez, Jr., the longest serving P.O.W in Vietnam, was presented with the Foundation’s first ever Great American Hero Award.
