April 23, 2012: Nixon era diplomats and National Security Council Middle East experts gathered at the National Archives in Washington to talk about how the 37th President saved Israel in its most desperate hour, advanced peace as an honest broker between Israeli and Arab leadership, and strengthened America’s relationship with the region while abating Soviet dominance. Panelists included former Ambassador to Israel Samuel Lewis, former Ambassador to Syria Richard Murphy, and NSC officials Harold Saunders and William Quandt. Ambassador Dennis Ross, Middle East adviser to Presidents George H.W. Bush, Clinton, and Obama moderated, and Hon.
