Former White House Press Secretary and Fox News Contributor Ari Fleischer took to the podium in the Nixon Library’s East Room on Tuesday evening to share insight into his latest book, Suppression, Deception, Snobbery and Bias: Why the Press Gets So Much Wrong—And Just Doesn’t Care.

Fleischer explained that he wrote this book “to blow the whistle on how out of touch and bad and often wrong America’s mainstream media can be.” Watching how the press treated President Trump inspired him to take deep look at why over half of Americans do not trust the press.

As someone experienced in presenting information from a White House podium, Fleischer presented the current state of media in America while backing his analysis with multiple examples of deception, activism, suppression, and snobbery from mainstream media.

Fleischer called for news that is reported fully, fairly and accurately while stressing how important it is for a democracy to have a press that holds those in power accountable.

Signed copies of Suppression, Deception, Snobbery and Bias are available for purchase at the Nixon Library Gift Shop and online.
