Two-day Richard Nixon Foundation conference will take place in Washington, D.C.

The Richard Nixon Foundation is pleased to present its second annual Grand Strategy Summit on October 18 and 19, 2023 at The Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C.

Established in 2022 —50 years after President Nixon’s grand strategy resulted in groundbreaking trips to the People’s Republic of China and the Soviet Union— the Grand Strategy Summit is dedicated to developing actionable foreign policy objectives to comprise a 21st Century American Grand Strategy: a long-term strategic direction for American statecraft that President Nixon called “the long view.”

This nonpartisan, two-day public policy conference gathers senior officials in and out of government, champions of American business, senior diplomats, media personalities and thought leaders to discuss the return of great power competition; discuss the future of the Western World’s role in the ongoing war in Ukraine; weigh strategies of how best to work with developing nations; debate America’s economic national interest; review the effectiveness of international economic sanctions; and anticipate rapidly-changing energy policies as elements of grand strategy.

The Honorable Mike Pompeo, former U.S. Secretary of State and CIA Director, will deliver keynote remarks at a dinner to kick off the Summit on October 18.

Additional program participants include:
Victoria Coates, Distinguished Fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council
