The Nixon Library

Updated January 11, 2019

Due to the federal government shutdown, portions of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum are temporarily closed.

However, not all of the Nixon Library campus is operated by the federal government; the private, nonprofit Richard Nixon Foundation owns the nine-acre Nixon Library campus and is pleased to continue to serve our guests during the shutdown.

The following areas are open for visitors to enjoy:

  • The President’s Birthplace
  • The President’s and First Lady’s Memorial Site
  • The First Lady’s Gardens and Pat Nixon Amphitheater
  • The Loker Center, including the White House East Room
  • The exterior of the Presidential Helicopter, Marine One
  • Visitor Orientation Film, “NIXON”
  • Museum Store
  • Café

While the government is shut down, guests will not have access to the museum galleries, the interior of the presidential helicopter and the research room.
