The Associated Press just declared that Sen. Barack Obama has “effectively clinched” the Democratic presidential nomination, based on the wire service’s tally of delegates.  Still, Sen. Hillary Clinton presses on. A few hours ago the AP reported that she would concede tonight, but the Clinton office furiously denied this minutes later.
In the world of books, another noteworthy review of Rick Perlstein’s Nixonland by Cornell professor Glenn Altschuler appeared in Sunday’s Portland Oregonian (not Orthogonian).  In it Prof. Altschuler notes that the book is weak when it comes to assessing the foreign-policy aspects of the Nixon Administration.
