The Orange County Register is showcasing Ed Nixon’s portrayal of his older brother and the 37th President of the United States Richard Nixon, the fifth president featured in the Foundation’s educational summer series, Meet the Presidents.

President Richard Nixon was tossed some tough questions on Tuesday from children at the Nixon Library.

“How do you get to The White House?

“Were games invented when you were a kid?”

Portraying President Richard Nixon was younger brother Edward as part of the library’s “Meet The Presidents Summer Educational Series.”

Banking on the family look and certain mannerisms, including the double victory signs, Ed Nixon charmed the East Room crowd of nearly 200 – children, their parents and others – with soft-spoken stories of the president.
“It brings tears to my eyes just meeting the man,” said Kimberly Haley of Fontana, who brought her three children. “This is living history. He looks like his brother. He was a great president.”

Speaking as himself, Edward Nixon, 80, said he enjoys watching people learn: “Learning something opens eyes. Learn something new. Out of the newness will be some new leaders.”
