During this White House visit, Sammy Davis Jr. offered to entertain at a gala to honor returning Vietnam Prisoners of War. On May 24, 1973, Davis returned to participate in the largest White House dinner in history. This year the Nixon Foundation will recreate that POW dinner on its fiftieth anniversary. Learn more here.
